Everything about life is about compromise isn't it.

Recently the Pain Management clinic tweaked my meds, I'm still on the same evil pain killers but they upped the dose and for the first time in three years I'm actually taking the full dosages all the time and not just when I think I need it. I had serious issues with not just popping the pills because of the addiction side of things but after a recent session with the PM clinic that resulted in a depressing talk about the fact that I will be spending the rest of my life on pain meds so getting worried about addiction is kind of a invalid point.

So I'm now taking 14 different medications to keep me upright and the upshot is I have been feeling so much better on one hand because I'm finding I'm not in constant pain and the other side effects have lessened greatly but the compromise is I'm spending most of my days in totall la la land. I'm forgetful, I can't concentrate. I'm going to bed on average at about 8.30 pm of an evening because I can't keep my eyes open. My work colleagues, family and MrC have all commented on the fact that I'm slower and have lost my 'spark'. Lost my Cheekiness.

And the other crap-shot is that since I've started taking the higher dosages of the Tramadol, Dyhyrocodine, Pethadine and Oramorph I'm losing weight again. I'm now 5st 10lb with is way too low for my height of 5'6.

So do I go back to limiting the tablets and get my 'spark' back but feel the pain or do I continue down this road.

I really don't know.

*sigh*

Now all I need to make me feel better over this knotty problem is a nekked Michael Weatherly and Ben McKenzie sandwich but I'm not sure I'd stay awake to enjoy the goodness.

So the one problem that I have had since switching to Snow Leopard was that my printer no longer worked with my Mac. And according to the Lexmark website, there wasn't a driver for it for that OS (of course, their website also said that there wasn't a driver for my previous OS -but it worked fine anyway). It was working fine still with my PC so I was printing anything I needed from there and the copier part works fine without a computer.

Then I started getting "cartridge error" messages that weren't fixed by following the instructions so I bought a new black ink cartridge. I still got the same error messages but it would print in black and white.

I went to Target and ended up getting a new HP printer that cost less than a new Lexmark color cartridge. And I checked on the price of the HP ink and, at least for now, it is about half of what my old ink cost. I set it up today and I didn't even have to do anything except plug in the USB to get it to print with my Mac- yay for simplicity.

I must admit that I mainly use my printers for the "copier" part and to print out knitting patterns and coupons and as most of my patterns are on my Mac this does simplify things.

I'm taking the old printer/copier/scanner over to my brother as it still works and the kids will probably find it handy.
